O Christmas Tree

This year we went to a farm in Lake Saint Louis and picked out our own Christmas Tree, cut it down, and brought it home to decorate. We went with Christy, Craig, John, Jacob, and Kaylee. It was a lot of fun. We spent most of our time picking out the tree, and the cutting process went really quickly. Rob had it down in no time, with help from John. The kids had fun running around and playing, and even though Clark said that this was "SO boring!" and "the worst day ever" in the car on the way home, he seemed to be having fun when we were at the farm. I don't know if we will do this again next year, but it was a lot of fun, and hopefully it created a memory for the kids that will last for years to come.

Cody did a great job of exercising Shelby; he tired her out!

Shelby wasn't quite up for the job of sleigh dog. :)

Cody riding the tree cart.

Jacqui pulling around her "tree."

Rob might have a successful career as a lumber-jack in-store.

Such strong kids!

After we cut down the tree, we brought it home and decorated it. So much fun! The girls even got Tito in on the holiday-fun, whether he wanted to be included or not.

Clark seemed so grown up this year as he was helping hang ornaments and stockings. It's a bittersweet feeling to realize that we don't have any babies anymore.

There is something special about this time of year when it's time to get the Christmas decorations out and transform your house into a more magical, wondrous place where the Christmas Spirit can enter and spread forth. I love sharing these memories with the kids. I hope they will look back on our Christmases together and feel love and warmth, for they are so very loved.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Love,
The Dixon Family
