Well, the new school year has started back up again, and that always brings along a flurry of activities. First, there is the dreaded School Fundraiser, which basically turns Rob & I into pushers of wallpaper, candles, etc. :) Then all of the activities come back, full swing.
We'll start with Cody since he's the oldest. He is in 6th Grade now, and his teacher is Ms. Wade. He was excited to get back to school and see his friends. He continued his Martial Arts, which he had done over the summer, and Boy Scouts started back up again in full force. He was also elected as one of the two Class Representatives for his class, which was really neat. He had to give a speach in front of his class, and he was nervous about it, but he did a great job. We are so proud of him. Being a Class Representative means that he is a part of the Student Council, and that he will be participating in Student Council Activities (before school meetings & helping with school functions). He's so excited. He was also elected as the Treasurer for the Student Council. This time he had to give a speech in front of the whole school, and he did a terrific job, and we know that he will do a great job as Treasurer also. He is also playing the Tenor Sax this year in the band and doing Safety Patrol. We are so happy that he is getting to experience all of these new things.
Jacqui is in second grade, and she has the same teacher that she had last year for first grade- Ms. Glass. She was thrilled about that. It's not very often that your teacher follows you up a grade. :) Jacqui decided not to do Dance this year. She has done it for the past 3 years, but she wanted to do something else, so we agreed to let her. She did Martial Arts with Cody for a month, and the Sensai said that she was a natural, but she didn't like it as much as she thought she would, so that was the end of that. She did want to do Girl Scouts again this year, though, so that should be a lot of fun. She will be a 2nd year Brownie. Also, once Jacqui turns 8 in February she will be able to do Activity Girls at Church, and that will be a lot of fun.
Carissa started Preschool this year, and we weren't sure how that would turn out. All summer long, she kept saying that she didn't want to go to Preschool, but now that she is in it, she loves it. She has so much fun. She has already gone on a Field Trip to Little Creek. That's a really neat little farm/nature area in our school district. She got to catch bugs, touch a snake, a rabbit, a turtle, and a dove. Oh & another one of her biggest accomplishments (I know you parents out there can appreciate this one) is that she is now officially potty trained. :) You can't get much better than that.
Clark is busy being two, which basically seems to entail thinking up new ways to either destroy things or perform dare devil stunts. LOL. I only wish that I was exaggerating, but he's just in that age, you know. Two is just one of those ages where they are cute as can be, and I love how they are learning to talk more and more each day. They are so eager and curious about everything, and that's wonderful and frustrating all at the same time :)
Rob is doing really well. He is still in the Young Men's Presidency at Church, which he enjoys, and work is going well. He works for Tech Electronics- monitoring computer systems and other electronic equiptment for different companies (it seems like everywhere) in the STL Area. He loves what he does, but the hours can be very demanding. We are hoping that things will slow down a bit in the near future.
I am doing really well too. I am busy keeping up with our little 4-some and going to school. I am taking a class on Group Counseling and another one on Psychological Testing, so they are really interesting. I love being in school. Lindenwood is great because they make it so that I can get 2 classes done in one night. :)
